The COHERENT ExactWeld 430 laser welding machine brings all the benefits of fiber laser welding to manufacturers of medical devices, electronic components, watches and other high-precision products. In particular, it provides high strength, small weld size, cosmetically attractive welds at high speeds and with minimal heat transfer to the workpiece. The system can be easily integrated into existing production lines and can optionally be equipped with a robotic interface for automatic part handling.
The ExactWeld 430 combines a fiber laser source, beam transmission optics, part clamping system, motion control, process gas supply and intuitive user interface in a compact, freestanding Class I laser housing. The result is a machine that is easy to set up and operate and that can weld virtually any metal. It can even join dissimilar materials.
Fiber laser welding to your specifications
The ExactWeld 430 can be configured with a variety of different COHERENT fiber laser sources, allowing the machine to be optimally tailored to each user's unique welding processes, materials and budget. Optional laser sources include StarFiber series products that can be operated either modulated or CW at average powers from 200W to 600W, ideal for high-speed or keyhole welding. High pulse energy models are also available, which are well suited for spot welding and processing heat sensitive parts.
These lasers are complemented by a complete selection of fixed focus optics or scanning heads to suit a very wide range of welding requirements. These include Coherent SmartWeld+ scan heads - an advanced form of 'beam oscillation' scanning that is particularly useful for heat sensitive materials and combinations of heterogeneous materials.
Rock solid
The system's work chamber measures 500mm x 400mm x 200mm (LxWxH) and incorporates a high-precision three-axis CNC linear motion system. An optional rotary axis is also available.
Both the motion and laser systems of the ExactWeld 430 laser are mounted on a solid granite base. This provides maximum stability and resistance to ambient vibration and ensures the accuracy of the entire system.
There are several other extensions for the ExactWeld 430. These include machine vision systems, a material alignment system and a pattern recognition system.
