sCMOS camera Marana

Andor's Marana sCMOS camera is the ideal choice for diverse applications in the physical sciences such as astronomy, Bose-Einstein condensation, quantum optics, hyperspectral imaging, neutron tomography and fast spectroscopy.

The Marana model series includes two models in total - Marana 4.2B-11 and Marana 4.2B-6. Both models feature a 4.2 megapixel sensor, 95% quantum efficiency (QE) and unmatched -45°C vacuum cooling. A major advantage of the cameras is the ability to optimize the signal-to-noise ratio, even under challenging conditions with limited light. This makes them suitable for tracking smaller orbital objects, spectroscopic detection of trace concentrations, and BEC fluorescence detection of discrete atom/ion counts.

Parameters

Model Marana 4.2B-11 (11 um pixels) Marana 42B-6 (6.5 um pixels)
Up to 95% QE (quantum efficiency) & lowest noise Maximum signal-to-noise ratio for low-light measurements. Detection of small orbital objects. BEC fluorescence.
Vacuum cooling down to -45°C Very weak signals require low noise.
4.2 megapixels High resolution. Maintain image quality despite larger field of view.
The only vacuum back-illuminated sCMOS camera on the market UltraVac technology from Andor protects sensors from QE degradation and moisture condensation.
Exposure flexibility Ideal for experiments that require exposures from microseconds to several seconds.
>99.7% linearity Unmatched quantitative accuracy across the entire signal range.
Anti-Glow technology Suppresses the glow effect at the sensor amplifier.
-
11 um pixels and 32 mm sensor diagonal sCMOS with the largest field of view. Compatible with a wide range of acquisition times. Tomography, sky scanning.
-
6.5 um pixels
-
Smaller pixels are suitable for some optical systems such as astrospectroscopy or cold atom imaging.
Low noise mode
-
Reduces the read noise level at the expense of pixel depth while maintaining a high frame rate. Ideal for applications that require high sensitivity.
High Speed Mode
-
Get images at up to 74 fps.
