Neo

Neo 5.5 is a very specialized sCMOS camera with intensive sensor cooling. The maximum resolution of this camera is 5.5 Mpx. At full resolution, a speed of 100 fps (limited by the camera's internal memory) can be achieved, which is up to 10x faster than CCD cameras at half the resolution. The large field of view also increases productivity and allows flexibility in setting acquisition parameters(Binning, Crop mode). With these parameters, the Neo camera is ideal for Live CellImaging.

The Neo 5.5 comes with CameraLink connectivity for high data rates at full resolution. The camera's internal memory to achieve maximum capture speeds is 4 GB. These options ensure maximum flexibility and affordability, major advantages over oldercharge-coupled device ( CCD ) technology.

Sensor cooling (TE cooling) reaches -30 °C as standard, and up to -40 °C when using a water circuit for minimum temperature noise and reduction of hot pixels. This feature is particularly advantageous for longer acquisition times when thermal energy is produced, which affects image quality and reduces the signal-to-noise ratio.

The Neo 5.5 provides a choice of pixel readout mechanisms. For the highest frame rates and low read noise, the "Rolling Shutter" mechanism is suitable. Exposure begins immediately after a specific row of pixels is read out. This means that it is not necessary to wait until all pixels have been read out, as is the case with CCD sensors. Extremely fast phenomena moving across the entire field of view must be sensed by a "Global Shutter" mechanism, which simultaneously acquires information from all pixels.

Solis software

Software Andor SolisFor controlling Andor cameras, we supply dedicated Andor Solis software, which allows you to customize the configuration for a specific application using all adjustable parameters. In addition to the standard parameters, for example "Binning" and "Crop mode" can be set in various combinations.

SDK libraries (Micro-manager, Labview, Metamorph) are also available for Andor cameras - a complete compatibility list can be found here. The software does not control the microscope.

GPU Express

The GPU Express libraries were created to accelerate and optimize the transfer of data from Andor cameras to the CUDA architecture graphics card (GPU). The computational capacity and parallel processing capability of modern graphics cards can be used for real-time data processing when using GPU Express. GPU Express can be easily integrated using SDK3libraries (Windows)
