This is the highest speed at which a captured image or spectrum can be continuously recorded and stored. Digital cameras can capture partial images of points or pixels together to achieve the highest reading speed. Therefore, two frame rates are typically defined, i.e., one is the frame rate of the entire image and the other is the fastest possible read rate. The scan rate is controlled not only by the number of pixels and the pixel read rate, but also by other factors such as the existence of binning, the use of a sub array, or what vertical shift rates these factors are in.
