Colocalization Analysis is a fluorescence microscopy method based on image reconstruction by combining a conventional microscopic image with a fluorescence microscope image. Although the image from a classical optical microscope has a high spatial resolution, certain structures of interest that we want to image (mainly cells and tissues) may not be visible or recognizable in the image. These structures can be made visible by fluorescent dyes(fluorophores) and imaged in a fluorescence microscope. Colocalization analysis increases the sensitivity and specificity of the classified objects.
