For this task, we chose the RMS1000 confocal Raman microscope (manufactured by Edinburgh Instruments) with spectral
resolution <0.1 cm-1 and spatial resolution <1 µm.
The setup includes the following components:
- Fully automated Raman up-right microscope with computer-controlled physical confocal aperture settings (more than 10 different sizes in the range of 25 µm to 100 µm)
- Powerful spectrograph with a focal length of 225 mm
- Integrated 532 nm and 785 nm laser sources
- Fluorescence module for fluorescence lifetime mapping using TCSPC technique; including 2 picosecond pulsed lasers (448 nm and 375 nm)
- Sample holder with computer-controlled temperature in the range of -190 to 600 °C
- Software for controlling the entire system (Raman spectrum mapping, FLIM, etc.) and data processing
