Microfocus X-ray tube

The client required the supply of an X-ray tube with a focusing footprint on the anode < 3 µm, a closed tube design, a minimum power of 10 W and control software. The equipment must be suitable for X-ray micro-radiographic and micro-CT measurements.

For this assignment, we chose the L12531 (Hamamatsu) X-ray source with a closed tube design, 2 µm focusing footprint, maximum voltage of 110 kV, maximum power of 16 W and a tungsten target.
