Coherent , in collaboration with the Optica Foundation(formerly the OSA Foundation), has announced the fourth annual Bernard J. Couillaud Prize.
The award is open to early-career scientists (1-5 years post-graduation) who are engaged in research or application development in the field of ultrafast photonics. The best project will be awarded $25,500.
Participants are completely free to participate in the project. Attention will be given to two criteria in particular:

Projects that significantly advance fundamental research.

efforts to translate technologies into commercial applications.
The prize is named in honor of the distinguished scientist Bernard J. Couillaud, who was president and CEO of Coherent. His significant contributions include, in particular, his collaboration on the development of the Hänsch-Couillaud technique for laser frequency stabilization and continuous and pulsed lasers.

The award is for early career scientists only (1-5 years after the highest level of education).

The winner will receive an award of $25,500 (including $5000 for travel expenses for a scientific conference hosted by the Optica Foundation)
