Habit is an iron shirt and so in our case too, the joint bike trip is a traditional May event of our team. This year we couldn't decide whether to go along the Vltava or the Elbe, so we came to a reasonable compromise and organized a trip along the Vltava there and along the Elbe back. From this we came up with our destination - the royal city of Melnik. And to keep with tradition, we targeted the local brewery Nemý Medvěd.
Thanks to the strategically chosen route, we could calmly set off directly from Letňany and cycle down to the Vltava River along the outskirts of Prague. Then we had a section of the Povltava cycle path with several stops all the way to Mělník. Here we could not miss the tasting of local wines from the cellars of the Lobkowice winery, which refreshed us after 60 km of the journey. The evening program with good food and especially local beer was complemented by a walk through the town and to the confluence of the Elbe and Vltava rivers. On the second day we had only 40 km of beautiful cycle paths along the Elbe River.
The event was a success again this year, the weather was also good, and we added more kilometres and another visit to a local brewery to our collection.
