Broad spectrum pulsed laser

The client requested a broad-spectrum sub-nanosecond pulsed laser with variable repetition frequency and frequency selection. The laser had to provide an output in the spectral range of at least 500-2400 nm, have a total stable power of at least 6 W, and produce a collimated single-mode diffraction-limited beam at all wavelengths. The system also had to be equipped with a filter module with a tunable frequency band. In addition to software for laser control, repetition rate selection, and frequency selection using a graphical user interface, a software development library and relevant documentation had to be included.

For this task, we chose the SuperK Fianium FIR-25 supercontinuum laser with a Varia filter unit. The laser has a tunable repetition rate (150 kHz to 78 MHz) and provides spectral output from 495 to 2400 nm with beam quality (TEM00 mod) M²^1.1. The compatible Varia filter module has a spectral range of 400-840 nm, with a variable bandwidth ranging from 10 to 100 nm. The entire assembly is controlled by intuitive CONTROL software. SDK is included.
