Astrella / Astrella HE Integrated Ti:S Amplifier

The Astrella and Astrella HE are next-generation ultrafast kHz amplifiers that are the first to combine industrial design with high durability and superior output performance. The lasers are subject to Coherent 's stringent standards and undergo the so-called HASS process (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening), a very demanding form of output screening.

HALT/HASS program

During this test, the laser is rapidly cooled, warmed and subjected to strong mechanical vibrations. In general, this involves stress testing at a step change in temperature (min. 20-40°C) while simultaneously loading the laser with vibrations in the range of several g (min. range 5 g) to demonstrate the stability, long-term durability and reliability of the laser delivered.

The integrated one box system also utilizes the new regenerative amplification module STAR (STable ARchitecture) to increase power, beam quality and stability at the output. This enables a wide range of demanding scientific applications under adverse operating conditions, combined with higher productivity and lower operating costs.

Astrella achieves high power (up to > 9 mJ/pulse), pulse lengths of either < 35 fs or < 100 fs, and excellent beam quality (M2 < 1.25). This makes it ideal for ultrafast spectroscopy, THz research, or femtosecond metal micromachining.
