A series of cryostats cooled by a closed circuit of gaseous helium. It is a combination of SuperTran flow cryostats (link to SuperTran section) and a recirculating gas cooler. This combination brings the advantages of flow cryostats (low vibration and fast sample change) and closed-cycle cryostats (economical operation).
