Microscopes are very complex devices that are constantly being developed and improved to suit different imaging techniques.
Microscopy and its applications have fostered many key breakthroughs in the biological sciences, this impact can be seen in the many Nobel Prizes in physics, chemistry and physiology or medicine, as well as the many discoveries that have been made possible through the development of new microscopy techniques.ANDOR has arranged a series of free seminars and tutorials ranging from basic applications of microscopy to the latest cutting-edge techniques. During the first sessions, concepts of detectors, fluorescence microscopy, sample preparation and confocal microscopy will be introduced .
After laying these "cornerstones" of the course, advanced microscopy applications such as TIRF, super-resolution microscopy , and photostimulation techniques will be discussed. Finally, appropriate tools for image processing and analysis will be mentioned.
