The Janis (Lake Shore Cryotronics) range of flow cryostats for a wide range of applications allows temperatures below 2K to be achieved. The cryostat can be cooled with liquid nitrogen or helium while the sample itself is under vacuum. Each system consists of a cold finger, radiation shield, sample holder, lightweight aluminum vacuum cover and a port for electrical grommets.
Temperature control of the sample is controlled by a heating element which is placed on the 'cold finger' and, in conjunction with an optional temperature controller, allows very precise temperature control.
Key features
- Temperature range
- Sample placed in a vacuum
- Rapid cooling (under 15 min to 4.2 K with liquid He)
- Continuous operation for temperatures below 4.2 K
- Possibility of heating and increasing the temperature range up to 800 K
- Specific design variants for different applications
