The Univet MASTR visor is designed specifically for the requirements of manual laser welding. Its design addresses a key
safety requirement of this technology: it protects the user both from invisible laser radiation (including
hazardous reflections) and from the intense light generated during the welding process itself. The version currently available
is also fitted with an upgraded front laser filter offering a higher protection level (DLB7, an upgrade from DLB6), which enhances
operator safety without compromising optical quality or clarity of vision. Thanks to its low weight and balanced ergonomics, it is suitable for all-day use.
Key features and benefits:
- Certified laser protection: The helmet shell is made from a special composite material that
absorbs laser radiation. Unlike standard plastics, it eliminates the risk of burn-through and protects the entire head and neck from
both direct and scattered radiation.
- Intelligent auto-dimming (ADF): The digital module with four sensors responds within 40 µs. When
the laser is fired, the visor automatically darkens (DIN range 4–13), thereby preventing glare, whilst the level of laser protection
remains constant.
- Precise weld guidance: The integrated filter reliably blocks harmful IR radiation (1064 nm) but
allows the visible spectrum (630–670 nm) to pass through. This ensures that the red laser guidance beam is clearly visible.
- Cost-effective operation: The outer protective lens is replaceable. Should it become scratched, it is therefore sufficient to
replace only this consumable part, rather than the entire optical assembly or frame.
