The grey-green polycarbonate UL-1038 filter provides broadband protection, particularly for lasers in the 1400–3000 nm range with a DI LB4 rating, for CO₂ lasers (10,000–11,000 nm) with DI LB4 protection, and is also suitable for use with lasers in the infrared region. It provides full protection with good visible light transmittance of 25 % VLT. It is designed to allow good colour recognition.
