Coherent Diamond Cx-10LQS+

The Diamond Cx-10LQS+ model represents the absolute technological peak in controlling the thermal profile of a cut. This compact Q-switched CO₂ laser generates extremely short pulses with enormous peak power from 2 kW to 5 kW. It is designed as a production-ready solution for advanced micromachining with unmatched low maintenance requirements.

Extreme Peak Power

Nominal power of ≥40 W is concentrated in pulses into tremendous values from 2,000 to 5,000 W.

Cold Processing Without Heating the Surrounding Area

Pulse widths of ≤200 ns ensure the material is ablated before heat has time to spread into the surrounding area.

Q-Switched Technology

An internal acousto-optic modulator (AOM) in the resonator provides excellent control over the Q-switched pulses.

Key Features

  • Fixed wavelength of 9.25±0.05 μm with circular polarization.
  • Extremely high beam quality (M2 ≤ 1.2).
  • Pulse frequency from single-shot pulses up to 200 kHz.
  • Integrated architecture with modular RF board and AOM module for very easy servicing.
  • Compact dimensions ensuring seamless integration into OEM systems.

Product description

The Diamond Cx-10LQS+ uses Q-switch technology (resonator quality modulation). With the help of a special AOM element placed directly inside the resonator, the laser can “store” energy and then release it in an extremely short and intense flash. The result is a pulse with a width of just 200 nanoseconds (fractions of a millionth of a second), carrying peak power of up to 5,000 W.

Thanks to such an extremely short application of enormous power, the laser gives heat no chance to spread from the cutting point further into the material. This creates an effect known in precision micromachining as “cold processing.” This process causes immediate and clean material evaporation (ablation). The energy fulfills its purpose much faster than it could dissipate into the surrounding area in the form of unwanted heat. This completely eliminates the formation of melt, scorching, or microcracks, making it an ideal tool for processing critically sensitive films in the electronics industry and in flat panel display manufacturing.

Fields of application

  • High-Tech and Display Manufacturing: Fine cutting of special films and layers in the production of LCD, OLED, and other flat panel displays (FPD).
  • Micro-Marking: Surface marking with ultra-high resolution without thermally affecting the material structure.
