Protective glasses

Protective goggles for working with lasers are composed of a frame and lenses with a suitable filter, similar to conventional goggles. The right safety glasses must then be selected according to the type of laser they are intended to protect against.

It is important to distinguish between continuous and pulsed lasers and to know the following laser parameters:

For continuous lasers

  • Wavelength (nm)
  • Laser power (W)
  • Beam diameter (mm)

For pulsed lasers

  • Wavelength (nm)
  • Energy in pulse (J)
  • Pulse frequency (Hz)
  • Pulse length (s)
  • Beam diameter (mm)

If you are not sure about the parameters of your laser, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can determine the right model of goggles based on your laser application, where we also take into account the comfort of wearing the goggles and where we have special frames suitable for wearing over dioptric glasses.

Service

Univet goggles are very high quality and have an almost unlimited lifetime when used properly. Occasionally, however, mechanical damage can occur from careless handling.

That is why we also provide the necessary service for the glasses, where it is possible to replace broken feet, etc.

Accessories

Each pair of glasses comes in a complete package that includes:

  • Hard zippered transport case
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Certificate with complete specifications according to EN 207 or EN 208
  • Lanyard for wearing around the neck
  • On selected glasses, an adjustment screwdriver is included

Parameters

Glasses are distinguished and selected according to the light source against which they are intended to protect your vision. This is also the subject of individual international European standards, which are adopted by Czech standards.

  • ČSN EN 207 - Protective glasses for working with lasers. The filter does not transmit any light. The laser is therefore not visible to human eyes through the glasses.
  • ČSN EN 208 - Protective glasses for laser beam adjustment. These filters allow trained operators to work with a laser at reduced power and see the laser beam.
