OPA generators (optical parametric amplifiers) convert the wavelength of lasers to other spectral regions such as UV, VIS, NIR and IR. This achieves high power and repetition rates that satisfy the demands of more sophisticated experiments. When selecting a generator, one must then consider not only the type and parameters of the pumping laser, but also the specifications one wishes to achieve.
For the Monaco and Monaco HEseries fiber lasers, Coherent currently offers 2 models of OPA generators:
- Opera-F
- Opera-HP
The Opera-F generator increases the output power of the pump laser even at repetition rates reaching 4 MHz and has wavelength tunability in the 650 - 900 nm and 1200 - 2500 nm ranges. Opera-HP generates high pulsed energy at repetition rates up to 2 MHz and offers tunability from 210 nm to 16 µm.
Key Features
- Pumping power up to 60 W
- Conversion efficiency >10% (signal + idler)
- Pulse energy up to 2 mJ (Opera-F) and 1 mJ (Opera-HP)
- Automatic wavelength tuning and wavelength selection from the UV to IR spectral region (Opera-HP)
The above generators can be combined with both model series of Monaco pump fiber lasers. Key features can be found in the table below or in the data sheets directly from the manufacturer.
