PowerMax from Coherent are sensors for measuring the power of continuous lasers or long pulse lasers. Thermophile sensors use the thermocouple principle, where laser radiation is incident on an absorber layer and converted into heat. An electrical voltage is then generated between this absorber layer and the heat sink.
Features
- Very wide spectral range 0.19 to 11 000 µm
- Aperture 19 to 50 mm
- Measuring range from 10mW to 300W depending on model
- Variants with USB or RS-232 interface where no meter is needed
- Sensors are compatible with LabMax-Pro, LabMax-TOP/TO, FieldMaxII-TOP/TO/P and FieldMate meters.
Variants
- Passive air-cooled, so-called convection-cooled
- Actively air-cooled, a fan with external power supply is connected to the heat sink
- Water/liquid cooled, these need to be connected to an external cooling circuit
The above sensors are also available in a modification for measuring excimer lasers emitting in the ultraviolet region of 150 nm to 400 nm. These detector variants are spectrally limited to 1000 nm.
