Edinburgh Instruments ' VPL (Variable Pulsed Lasers) series of pulsed laser diodes provide optical pulses with time widths tunable from nanoseconds to milliseconds. In addition, they can operate in continuous mode. They are optimised for phosphorescence lifetime measurements using the MCS (Multi-Channel Scaling) method.
Although they are designed to be compatible with Edinburgh Instruments spectrometers ( FLS1000, FS5 and LifeSpec II fluorometers), they can be incorporated into any experiment thanks to their external switching capability.
