MicAO 3DSR

One of the world's leading manufacturers of adaptive optics and wavefront analyzers, French company Imagine Optic, whose product portfolio features a wide range of products from Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensors to metrology software, deformable mirrors with electromagnetic and mechanical actuators, adaptive optics software and much more, has developed a special MicAO 3DSR module that can improve the contrast and resolution of u (Single Molecule Localization Microscopy) methods, especially PALM (PhotoActivation Localization Microscopy), or photoactivation localization microscopy, is a localization microscopy method used for super-resolution imaging of objects stained with fluorescent probes.

Key features of this module include

  • Simple handling based on the plug and play principle
  • Compatibility with standard inverted microscopes
  • Wavelengthrange of 400 - 700nm
  • Optical transmission > 95% for 475-675 nm
  • Software for adaptive optics: MicAO software v1.3

Product description

show in dictionary (Photo Activation Localization Microscopy), STORM (Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy), or stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy, is one of the methods of super-resolution microscopy using light flashes to activate photoactivatable fluorescent molecules. The photoactivation of molecules occurs based on their stochastic (random) properties.
Show in glossary (Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy) and SPT (Single Particle Tracking).

The principle of the MicAO 3DSR module is based on the use of adaptive optics, specifically a Mirao 52e deformable mirror correcting for astigmatism and aberrations of the optical system, which allows the detection of multiple photons from a sample. This contributes to overcoming the diffraction limitations of microscopy imaging and leads to increased resolution accuracy of SMLM methods.

MicAO 3DSR-3

The MicAO 3DSR has been developed for easy implementation on any inverted microscope, where the module is simply inserted between the microscope side port and the camera itself, allowing the use of additional add-on systems. The MicAO 3DSR is supplied together with the user-friendly MicAO v1.3 software, which contains all the necessary tools for aberration detection and correction in biological samples.
