The HighLightTM FL-ARM range of industrial, multi-kilowatt fibre lasers incorporates beam steering to deliver outstanding results in a range of demanding welding tasks. Coherent HighLight laser sources with ARM technology feature two individually controlled, coaxial, single-fiber beams, providing a new level of flexibility for applications such as zero-gap welding of galvanized steel, as well as the ability to weld aluminum without additional wire, with minimal spatter and no hot cracking. Power levels in the central spot and circumferential ring are independently adjustable. The result is high speed and high throughput without spatter and a reduction in overall production costs by largely eliminating the need for post-processing.
To maximize operational flexibility, HighLight ARM lasers can be equipped with either a Fiber-Fiber-Switch (FFS) or Fiber-Fiber-Coupler (FFC).
HighLight™ FL4000CSM-ARM variant:
The HighLight FL4000CSM-ARM laser variant is only available with 4 kW power (1.5 kW center + 2.5 kW ring). The central fibre of this laser produces a single-mode output that allows the beam to be focused to a very small spot. As a result, the laser expands the application areas of welding compared to standard single-mode fiber lasers and makes it possible to weld "challenging" materials that were difficult or impossible to process in the past. These include thin (a few tenths of a mm) materials that do not tolerate high total heat input (e.g. welding foil to a strap) and mixed materials if they have significantly different thicknesses and melting points.
