A standard tunable monochromatic incoherent light source is created by a suitable combination of an arc light source (most often an Xe lamp) and a monochromator. The combination of these two key components is optimized with respect to the application under consideration. For stability reasons, the whole assembly is placed on a common motherboard.
Components of the complete tunable light source
- Broad spectrum lamp with capacitor and power supply
- Focusing optics to direct the light beam to the input slit of the monochromator
- Monochromator with diffraction gratings and optical filters
- Common base plate
- Control software
Key Features
- Complete tunable monochromatic light source
- Versatility and flexibility
- Wide selection (coverage of the entire UV-VIS-NIR region)
- Fixed arrangement of individual components (common base plate)
- Optional fiber output
