Miroslav Kořínek specializes in optical spectroscopy at Optixs. He is responsible not only for spectrometers, detectors, supercontinuum lasers and incoherent light sources, but also for particle size analyzers and optical and optomechanical components. In his profession he uses the knowledge he gained during his studies at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague. His PhD thesis focused on time-resolved spectroscopy of semiconductor nanostructures. What he enjoys about his work is discussing it with customers and coming up with new solutions.
What fascinates him about spectroscopy is a fact that he says is true for science in general: "It is wonderful that one constantly finds new connections that one had previously overlooked or not paid attention to." Miroslav devotes most of his free time to his family. He relaxes by listening to rock music and reading historical novels. He likes beer and good food.
